Panda Dome Advanced is a computer security package developed by the Spanish software developing company Panda Security SL. The company began in 1990 as a security enterprise and provides different security solutions such as firewalls, applications and spyware detection, and has concerned itself with Cloud Antivirus since 2009. The major advantage of Cloud Antivirus is that this software hardly taxes the computer at all and the antivirus update is very quick in spotting new threats or viruses.

The Spanish still serve a slow installation procedure, however. After some time the user interface appears. It appears that the software has been inspired by Windows. The interface comes with ‘tiles’ in different colours that can be categorised by the user themselves.

The software comes equipped with a parental supervision module. In this module different types of websites can be blocked, for example download- or gambling websites. The online back-up solution is a disappointment. It is nothing more than a link to the online back-up service Mozy where you, as a panda user, get 2 GB of free online back-up storage space.

A new function in Panda Dome Advanced is the virtual keyboard. This prevents cybercriminals from reading your keystrokes, for example when you log in on your bank site. A second interesting function is the creating of a USB rescue disk. This USB rescue disk allows you to load the Panda Cloud Cleaner without accessing the control system. This makes it easier for the antivirus software to locate and remove viruses and other malware.

One major downside is that the software, in contrast to previous versions, does not have a spam filter.

In case the Panda Dome Advanced package is not sufficient, you can, for an additional price, get the ‘Dome Complete’ package. This package allows you to secure MAC OS and Android as well as Windows.
